Our Domaine
A rendezvous in the south of France...
Our Domaine Saint Eugène is idyllically nestled among vineyards, not far from the ancient settlement of Oppidum d'Ensérune, close to the Canal du Midi and not far from the Mediterranean Sea. Originally a resting place on the Roman Via Domitia, it has a history dating back over 2,000 years.
In the 1990s, it was brought back to life and lovingly renovated in style by its current owner and winegrower, Günter Hutter.
You are welcome to visit Domaine Saint Eugène, whether to get to know and taste our wines or to engage in detailed discussions about everything under the sun over an espresso with Günter and his visions.
...in a region full of treasures and passion
The Languedoc with its 300 000 hectars of vines, is the largest wine-growing region in the world, and Bezièrs, 15 km away, is one of the oldest wine towns in France.
The Languedoc is also a region full of cultural and tourist attractions. Historic towns and monasteries, imposing buildings, castles, gorges and landscapes, as well as the Canal du Midi – relaxation and activity go hand in hand here.
The fine sandy coastline stretches for many kilometres along the Mediterranean Sea to the Spanish border.
You can find a personalised travel guide compiled by a lover of the estate and the region here.

Four typical holiday apartments are available for you
The harvest supervisor (vendangeur) lived here with his family in the last century. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, he was responsible for 300 hectares of vineyards and apple orchards.
The flat is on the first floor, with the kitchen window facing the courtyard. The bedroom has a double bed, the kitchen has a single bed, and the bathroom has a shower and toilet. The floors are made of old clay tiles. The exterior walls are very thick, so it stays pleasantly cool in summer.
Central heating is available during the transition period. The floor space is approximately 60 m². The flat is ideal for 2 people.
The former granary (grange) was mainly used to store hay and straw for the horses, as well as other feed such as oats. The old rope winch is still located by the window. During the grape harvest, the harvest workers were also accommodated here.
There is a very large living room with a kitchen. It faces west, which floods the room with beautiful sunset light in the evening. The balcony overlooks the quiet rear garden and is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif in the evening.
One of the bedrooms has a double bed. The window faces the paddock, and in the evening you can see the beautifully lit Capestang Abbey. A bathroom with shower and toilet completes this area. The second bedroom with two single beds faces the courtyard. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a bath, shower and toilet.
In winter, guests can use the central heating system and the large fireplace in the centre of the living room. The entire flat has a floor space of 110 m² and is suitable for 2 to 4 people.
The former forge clings to the back of the wine cellar like a bird's nest. This is where the blacksmithing work for the horses, the gardens and the winery's tools was carried out. We have kept everything authentic. In the large kitchen, you can still find the old heavy wooden workbench on which the vice was clamped. We have converted the forge into a stately fireplace.
On the first floor, you will find two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed and a double bed. Both rooms offer a magnificent view over the vineyards to the south. The bathroom with two sinks and a large shower is located on the ground floor and measures 15 m².
In front of the flat is a large terrace under a plane tree that is over a hundred years old. The flat is approximately 110 m² and is suitable for 2 to 4 people.
This apartment was the chicken and duck house of Saint Eugène. It is a separate cottage with a combined living room/kitchen and a bedroom with two single beds. It has a bathroom with shower and toilet.
In memory of the previous residents, everything is kept somewhat in a rustic style. You have your own enclosed garden, and the apartment's glass front faces east.
You can sit in the garden in the morning sun and have breakfast, then spend the day in the shade under the old fig tree.
The garden of the Poulailler leads to the east side of the large garden of Saint Eugène. This flat is approximately 35 m² and is ideal for 2 people.
